On October 15, her husband Keith, children Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, and other members of her extended family attended a private funeral service at Francis Xavier Catholic Church in the Sydney suburb of Lavender Bay.
The Daily Telegraph reports that a number of Janelle’s family members, including Nicole, her sister Antonia, and all eight of her grandchildren—the eldest of whom is TV star Lucia Hawley—spoke at the occasion.
According to reports, journalists Peter Overton and his wife Jessica, as well as fellow Australian actor Russell Crowe, provided support to Nicole and her family.
When Nicole learned of her mother’s passing, she immediately left Italy to join her distraught family in Australia after arriving in Italy in early September to attend the Venice International Film Festival.
The director of the sensual movie Babygirl, in which the 57-year-old won Best Actress, read out a statement on Nicole’s behalf, bringing the tragic development to the public’s attention.
“I arrived in Venice today and soon learned that my beautiful, courageous mother, Janelle Ann Kidman, passed away,” the heartfelt message, which also served as an acceptance speech, said.
“The collision of life and art is painful, and my heart is torn. I am very grateful that Halina allows me to announce her name to all of you.
Antonia, Nicole Kidman‘s younger sister, was seen placing a bunch of purple flowers outside her late mother’s house in the northern suburbs of Sydney shortly after the news was made public.
Although the cause of Janelle’s death has not yet been disclosed, Nicole has previously discussed her mother’s persistent health problems and her numerous visits to Australia
Currently residing in Nashville, Tennessee, the family owns six opulent residences in the Harbourside apartment complex in the affluent Milsons Point area of Sydney.
As they grieve at their 45-hectare Southern Highland estate, which is only two hours south of Sydney, they may also want to get some country air, even if they plan to base themselves in the inner-city base in the coming weeks.
