Prior to the Trump-Harris debate, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) expressed his excitement for “watching President Trump make the case to the American people tonight that he is the only man for the job to Make America Great Again.”
He told Tim Miller of The Bulwark Podcast in the spin room following the debate that it was a “disaster” and that the GOP nominee’s debate crew ought to be dismissed because, according to Graham, Trump was ill-prepared.
Lindsey Graham did not air his dissatisfaction with the Trump debate prep team on X, despite disclosing it to Miller. Graham backed up that assertion with a picture of a “must read” letter from the president of Focus for the Family, a Christian fundamentalist group.
The letter, addressed to the ABC president, requests an apology and clarification from Linsey Davis, the debate moderator for ABC News, who fact-checked Trump’s assertion that newborns are being slaughtered.
“No state in this country allows for the legal killing of a baby after it is born,” stated Davis.
Focus Family, as evidenced by the letter below, disputes this and asserts that there have been cases of “infanticide,” citing vague “records” purportedly showing “after birth” abortions in Minnesota in 2019.
Group that supports choice Planned Parenthood calls these “Born Alive” bills—which anti-abortion lawmakers have been introducing in every Congress for almost ten years—”deceptive” because they “make up a problem that doesn’t exist.” Physicians are already required by law to provide appropriate medical care.
