This year the Toronto International Film Festival had a decidedly Indian flavor! Three films set in Mumbai were shown at the festival, two of which I had the pleasure of reviewing.

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan debuted Dhobi Ghat: Mumbai Diaries with his wife and the film’s director, Kiran Rao, to much acclaim. Respected director Anurag Kashyap’s film That Girl In Yellow Boots was also very well received, and gave audiences a frank look at Mumbai’s gritty underbelly.
